Going to ND this weekend with Shane. The farm I've hunted the last five years has a stipulation of no bucks this year so we are checking out some new ground. Chad

Is that the recurve you had the flipper style rest on?
Try shooting cock feather in on the recurve to see if that makes a difference. |

Thanks for the tips. They definitely make sense. I will try to figure this problem out this weekend when I have more time to fiddle with it. Thanks again!!!!

Good luck Tod. No big hunting plans for me this year, burned most of this years vacation time on Turkey hunting and funerals. Thinking of South Dakota for Turkeys next year or the following?

Every bow is different so it may not like the same arrow even though the bows are close in specs. Might be your nocking point on the Recurve string is a little low. Try raising it up a little at a time and see how your arrow flies.
In my experience if you don't get a good release you can get fish tailing as well, but since you said you get good arrow flight out of your Longbow this is probably not the case. Try raising the nock point and see what happens. Those Arrow Dynamic shafts seem to be pretty forgiving so I think they are probably matched pretty close to both bows. if raising the nock point doesn't help try different weights up front on the shafts and see if that helps. |

A recurve is more centershot than a longbow, so you are shooting weaker arrows from your longbow, when you use them in your recurve they are too weak.
At least thats wha ti think, someoen will chime in and set me straight. |

So I need to dip in wax, not ladle it into the inside and scrape out? Can I treat with wax before stitching up, would be easier to get the wax throughout the inside, I have the holes drilled in the leather now, drilling is sure the way to go to make the needle holes. Boy that wet shaping of the leather sure works sweet. It looks like I can sand the outside edges of the sheath to size before wax when the leather's hard, anyone do that?

Hey everyone,
I have a question about my shooting. I shoot a longbow 52# at 28" with "arrow dynamic" arrows and they fly good out of the bow. Then I tried a recurve 50# at 28" with the same arrows and the arrow fishtailed to the target. What could be the problem here? I thought they would fly about the same since the draw weights were almost the same. I guess I was wrong once again!!! lol |
