This was lunch break durring the 3rd annual (2009) Dead Presidents day bunny hunt. we had a bit of snow and it was a little cold that day so there weren't many that showed up but we had a good hunt anyway. I think we got 8 down from 22 in 2008.  |

yeah.
the first year that we had it, one of the guys shot the only 2 bunnies we took with a compound.
the second year we had 22 all trad, right at this same campground. Chad will remember this place, he, Dave, Mike and Jerry? hunted deer out of there in 08.
not sure where we'll have this one yet, I'll have to do some bunny scouting.
you guys should all jump in a bus and come over. It's always on Sunday of Presidents day weekend so you'd have a day on either side for travel.

me too, i certainly don't have that day off.
On another note, I'm originally from Mandan, my parents still live just north of mandan. Last year when my dad and i were pheasant hunting i saw more cottontails than ever before. you couldn't take 10 steps without flushing another bunny.

I'm starting to put some thought into the upcoming event. Again, people are welcome to stay here. We can hang out in the shop in the evenings. I'll have the grill going and do up some antelope steaks. I try and get permission on the farm we hunted last year and take a look around for some new areas. Chad

sounds good Chad, i'll plan on coming up saturday morning and spend the night.
It worked out well last year when we all met at McDonalds and caravaned to the first spot.
Is there anything you need peopel to bring? do you think there will be enough people for me to bring the big coffee pot?

Meeting at McDonalds would probably be the way to go again if we hunt that same piece of land. I think that parcel had many more rabbits than we ever knew were there, a hound dog certainly would help flushing them.

My goal the next 2 days is to get out and see if there are any bunnies on the properties we hunted last year. Also I'll look for grouse. Remember last year how the grouse were walking around in front of us but the season was closed? This year they will be open season for us. Chad
