Has anyone found any yet? I have spent 7 hrs looking so far this year with 0 antlers found. I still have a camera out and am getting a fair amount of picts of bucks with their antlers still on. Unfortunately, I think this weather is going to put an end to looking for me till after the next thaw. Post picts of any you find and I'll do the same.
Good luck looking.
Ray

Has anybody trained their dog to find sheds? I would try it but I have no sheds to use for training.

Joe, I have some sheds you can have for training. This spring, I'm going back to the farm in ND to look for sheds.

Chad, I would take a few of those off from your hands. That farm in ND should be a pretty target rich environment for sheds.
Joe, anything I can do to help I will. Is it a pup that you got? I plan on getting another pup after spring breakup. I found a few good ones now but I just have no time for much besides work this time of year. If you need blood we will be butchering again in March and I can save some. I may even have some vennie blood in the freezer yet. Good Luck!

I have a lab that I have worked with some to find antlers. She has logged many miles and hours with me in the woods looking and has found one for me that I would not have found. I noticed her acting goofy off to my side and she was pushing one along the ground with her nose. I think I have to do alot more training to get her to actually find them and bring them to me, which she does around the yard and property with no problems. I think she smells me on the antlers though.

I went out yesterday and found 2. We were unable to find the match to the big shed that we found. Maybe when more snow melts. Below is a picture of the small one. Below is how I found the big one and the last is the shed after I pulled it out of the snow. The great looking bow that I am holding is my new River Runner. Love the bow. Didnt shoot much the day these sheds were found. I lost an arrow in the snow and didnt feel like losing any more. Even though I didnt shoot it much, it just feels right having a bow in the hand. I am sure you all agree. Anybody else having any luck?

I went out with my two boys yesterday and my oldest son found a fork horn, only one side. It's very wet and soupy out in the woods, but still better than watching TV.

Marc, you live in Iowa so that is just an average shed, here in Mn it would be a whopper, nice one. My son found 2, one was starting to be chewed on already so there's only a week or two left to gather the unchewed ones around here.

Shane and I went out west looking this weekend. Still alot of snow on the ground but the deer were grouped up the last 3 months so we did well. Saturday we found 17 sheds and 3 buck skulls. Sunday we only found 2 but one was the match to a big one we found the day before. One of the skulls I was told is about 135 inches. We found 3 matched sets. One set would probably score 135 ish, one about mid 120s and the other a 100 inch 4 x 4. I will put up the pictures as soon as I can get photobucket to work for me. It has been acting up. Chad
