Time to start thinking about the bunny hunt again. Input is welcome on dates that would work for everyone. I can host it again but can't garrentee we will shoot any bunnies. I will garentee though that we will shoot at least as many as last year. Chad

Chad, If it is held at your place, what did you find out about a possible pheasant hunt at that pheasant farm near your place? Do you have a decent chunk of public land nearby that we could try for bunnies or squirrels? So far it appears my schedule is pretty well empty so I'm almost positive I'll be there regardless of the location!!!

I haven't made it yet ! But toss out some dates we'll see what sticks, Due to life and such it hasn't been much of hunting year .....perhaps some bunny hunting .....perhaps some carpooling from north metro.....might have extra snowshoes to bring IF I can make it.....

I'm in and have pretty much an open schedule. Am thinking of bringing some ice fishing gear up and hitting one of the local lakes on Sunday? Could donate any fish caught to the fish fry that we talked about at the Bow Building Weekend?

I'm throwing out a date. The weekend of January 29th,30th. Anyone else gotta a different date they wanna throw in the mix?
Obviously whoever is hosting this should have the final say. That being said, Chad what are you thinking about this?

Too bad, my son will be out visiting 8-18 Jan. He would love to do this. I think I will be available for 5 Feb. I may have spare snowshoes to bring as well.
Newbie question- what type of points does everyone use? Something to not burrow under the snow and disappear until Thaw...

Old broadheads, judos, steel blunts, field points. They should all work. We don't really know as we have only gotten one hare in the 2 years we have tried. Todd got his with a judo.

Yes, anything will work but I would stay away from field points as they might just pass through with out doing any damage. I wouldn't use anything that you aren't willing to part with if there is more that a couple of inches of snow. We didn't need snow shoes last year but this year could be differant.

I just found out the trad show in Kalamazoo, MI is January 28, 29, and 30th. So I guess I'm gonna take away my suggestion of having the bunny hunt on that weekend. The weekend of Feb. 5th might work for me. The Minnesota State Archery Association (MSAA) indoor regionals are the weekends of the 5th and 12th of Feb. if anyone is interested in that stuff.

The weekend of the 5th works for Gage and I. Was a fun day last year and we had some good chow. Hope there isn't a rain storm this year. I don't think bunnies like to come out and play in the rain. Not to mention we spent too much time getting each other out of the ditch.

I found out today that we can get 20 pheasants for 15.00 each at a local game farm. There would be a minum of 20 birds to get this deal. Dogs are taken care of. Do we want to make this a combo rabbit/ pheasant hunt?

That sounds fun. Can you check to see the opinion on heads in regards to dogs around. Broadheads and dogs might be an issue.
